Your elevator pitch (AKA - what do you do?)
I’m a professional photographer and writer, passionate about inspiring women & girls to do what they love and to BE SEEN. Women, like you or me, who doubt their own abilities but actually possess incredible talent. Women who may be uncomfortable in front of a camera but who’s talents completely deserve to be seen. My work includes capturing women in business, events focused on female audiences and girls following their passions.
Your must-have app for business
Aside from some of the more obvious ones that I'm always using like Insta, Lightroom & Filmm, I am currently loving WAZE for avoiding unnecessary traffic jams while getting to and from shoots!
Top productivity tip
This might not be an obvious one but for me, it's getting up early. If I get up early, meditate, journal for a bit and possibly do a bit of yoga, I ALWAYS without exception have a more productive day.
The best and worst thing about being a business owner
Working for myself. It's the best and the hardest thing! I love the freedom of it, being master of my own destiny, but working alone for too long can really affect my mood. Luckily I've now learned to book in coffee's with other biz owners, and network events regularly so that I never spend too much time working solo. And of course, the WeBlog community is amazing for this too!
Your wisest words of encouragement for anyone thinking about self-employment?
Never underestimate your own worth! If you do it affects everything from the people you end up working with to the money you earn, but equally a bit of self-belief can result in some amazing collaborations and a healthier bank balance to boot.
