How long have you been creating content?
I started my blog in February this year, although I had been working on it for a good year before I found the courage to go live. Anyway, it actually happened by accident! When I published my first blog, I didn't know at the time the plugin helping you to make sure that when you press the magic button, you really mean go live!
Why did you decide to start your blog/vlog?
I am passionate about nutrition and the prevention of diseases such as cancer. My main focuses are ketogenic diet and educating children about nutrition. I heard a saying somewhere "knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted". I have studied too much (genetics, molecular biology, nutrition and fitness) to keep it to myself. I wish I could reach as many people as possible to get my messages across.
Do you see this becoming a career or part of your career?
I hope it will one day. I am still not as committed as I should be in creating my content if I want to take it somewhere.
What do you hope to achieve for your content in 2018 and what’s your big-picture goal?
Oh, there’s not that much time left there! I would like to focus my website more on the ketogenic diet and then do extra children’s nutrition. Also, I hope I can fill my blog with a few more meaningful posts and want to start vlogging. Vlogging is my big goal. I know, I just have to do it, but I am still not completely comfortable with exposing my face and voice to the public.
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
I do not really have a favourite one. I would say I am most familiar with Facebook and still struggling with Twitter and Instagram. Hopefully, I will improve gradually!
What is your favourite tool or app that helps in your content creation?
Definitely Canva. You can become your own graphic designer and create amazing Insta posts, infographics and many more.
Who is your blogging/vlogging/content inspiration and why?
Well, I have a wonderful colleague Debbie Jones from Proper Foodie who is kind of my mentor for blogging. She was my biggest supporter to go out with my blog and she helped me a lot. I love the way she does Proper Foodie and in my opinion, Debbie is an excellent example that blogging/vlogging can be manageable with our job as scientists.
What do you like to do on weekends? Where can we find you hanging out?
At the moment, sitting in front of my computer and working on a number of projects. But otherwise, being somewhere out in nature, exploring England and discovering good restaurants.
If you could go anywhere in the world or experience any one thing, what would it be?
My mind is running wild now. I would love to travel around the world, meeting people from different cultures while writing a book. Who knows, it might happen one day!
What're your tips for staying motivated and/or organised in your work?
I think when you love what you do, and you know why you are doing it, you do not need anything to motivate you. I am the last person you should ask for tips, though! With my disorganised way of working on my content, I should be the one who is asking all the amazing content creators here for the answer to that!
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other content creators & aspiring bloggers/vloggers?
Your passion is your determination and by accepting that your journey is an adventure with ups and downs, you can stay aligned with your goals, while enjoying the path to reach them.
Fun/Random fact about you:
People have a hard time to believe that I wanted to be a fashion designer. I love art, painting, drawing and making dresses... I still do it once in a while for pleasure.
