Northern Blog Awards 2018 Official Photos
To re-cap, on Saturday 29th September 2018, 250 of the North's top content creators came together under one roof to champion each other and showcase the talent that resides up here in the North of England.
From bloggers, to Youtubers, from photographers, to podcasters - the second annual awards event aimed to give all forms of content a platform because although it's the "Blog Awards", we recognise that it's all about creating content!
Why the #NBAs are unique
I like to think this event is unique because it's a red-carpet awards ceremony that's entirely inclusive and aims to award content creators of all experiences, ages, niches and followings. It's definitely not a popularity contest and not a numbers game. With an entirely open-nomination process (meaning anyone can nominate or be nominated), everyone is shortlisted by an industry judge based on criteria spanning the depths of content creation. The shortlist is then put to the public vote, but that only counts for 40% of their final score, with the judges score being the dominant factor. This has led to an amazing selection of people winning and a lot of surprises.

So if you assumed that it wasn't worth entering because you'd "never win in a million years", then think again. Just head on over to our Northern Blog Awards 2018 Winners post to see the variety of talented people awarded on the night. Yes, there are some big names, but there are some that you may not have heard of too...yet! Because that's what it's all about - acknowledging the amazing content being created that you might not have discovered.
How can I find out about the Northern Blog Awards 2019?
Well, I'm already squirrelling away, making plans for Year 3 of the #NBAs to be bigger and better than ever! So it's likely that I'll be making the first set of announcements in January on our twitter page, instagram and facebook. So makes sure you follow and like accordingly to ensure you don't miss it!
Early bird tickets will then go on sale, with the cheapest price you can bag yourselves, followed by details of nominations in the Spring. It'll be here before we know it!
I'm debating whether to host next year's event in late September or early November, so if you have any preferences, please comment below, as it'll help me plan!
