"Find the confidence to start. For me, that was the big thing"
How long have you been creating content?
Why did you decide to start your blog?
I have previously had a blog, which I loved but I just had no time for in the end. Then I didn't have the motivation or the confidence to start it back up again until reading a few blogs recently and rekindling my old love of writing.
Do you see this becoming a career or part of your career?
I would absolutely love for this to be a career, but at this early stage - who knows.
What do you hope to achieve for your content in 2018 and what’s your big-picture goal?
My goal is just to keep it up for 2018. I really love to blog, about everything!
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
My favourite social media is Instagram as I feel like I just know how to use it better.
What is your favourite tool or app that helps in your content creation?
I haven't really found many tools and apps as of yet. But I'm hearing great things about Canva
Who is your content inspiration and why?
So one blogger who really re-sparked my interest in blogging is an amazing lady who I believe is also a part of WeBlogNorth called Jess who goes by Not Just A Tit (Yes! We love Jess!)
One of her recent posts on mental health really stuck with me. I was in complete admiration of how she posted that and it gave me a bit of confidence to get back up and running.
What do you like to do on weekends? Where can we find you hanging out?
My daughter, my partner and I love going on little adventures on the weekends we have together - we could be anywhere! We often head into Manchester, and later this month we will be off to see the NFL at Wembley.
If you could go anywhere in the world or experience any one thing, what would it be?
I would 100% love to take my daughter to Disneyland. I have never been, she has never been. I think it would be just so magical for both of us to experience.
What're your tips for staying motivated and/or organised in your work?
So, I am also a student so I have to keep quite organised to fit everything in that I want to do. I have a school planner which I use for Effie and my school events, deadlines, exams etc. I would say my best tip is - do not pressure yourself if you're not feeling 100% or it's all getting a bit too much, just have a break. Have a chat and a think about how you can break down everything you need to do into manageable chunks!
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other content creators & aspiring bloggers/vloggers?
Find the confidence to start. For me, that was the big thing - being worried about what people I know would say or think about my thoughts and opinions that I'd be presenting into my blog.
Fun/Random fact about you (go on, surprise us!)
A few months ago I raised over £500 for Muscular Dystrophy UK by doing a Tough Mudder!
