I thought it'd be a good idea to share with you our draft WeBlogNorth Events Calendar for 2018! Just so you can get a feel for all the awesome events we've got planned for next year and some of the other Northern cities we plan to visit, outside of Manchester.
The WeBlogNorth events calendar is not set in stone (largely because I'm due to have a baby somewhere in the middle of it), but it does give a really good indication of what we'll be organising for you amazing content creators here in the North, next year.
There will be some tweaks and changes along the way and plenty of additions too. PLUS, this WeBlogNorth events calendar, does not include the brand events, PR opportunities and dining clubs that will also be on next year. If you're a member, you'll find out about these first in the private members Facebook group!
WeBlogNorth Events Calendar 2018
So here it is...you can also download a lovely pdf here: WeBlogNorth_Events_2018 and we will update and finalise it as the months go on. But I wanted you to have something before January, so you can start planning ahead and setting your goals for the coming year.
So what exactly will the events be?
Here's just a short synopsis overview of the different types of events we at WeBlogNorth run - this will give you an idea of what to look out for throughout the year, how much tickets might be and what we get up to.
They largely break down into: Socials / Meet-ups, Seminars, Workshops, The NBAs and #WeBlogXmas
Socials / Meet-ups
These do exactly what they say on the tin. It's a chance for us content-creators, entrepreneurs and bosses to meet-up, have a drink, a good natter and share our knowledge. Most of our meet-ups follow a loose format which may involve a guest-speaker (someone inspirational), or some round-table Q&As to get our mojos going. They're always informal, usually last about 2 hours and are either mid-week after work, or on a weekend. Often include Prosecco, soft drinks and nibbles of some description.
Cost: these are either free of charge or have a nominal ticket price under £10, to cover venue, food and drinks.
Seminars
Our WeBlog Seminars are a fantastic way to learn and be inspired, alongside your fellow content creators. They are usually a small session of 6-8 people, dedicated to learning about a specific topic area (eg. beginners content creating, or, ways to earn money from your blog, or, goal-setting). This intimate session means you get some guaranteed one-on-one time with the seminar leader and you'll get to steer the way the session goes. They usually last 3 hours, 10am - 1pm on a Sunday and include refreshments and nibbles.
Cost: these tend to cost between £25-35 per session.
Workshops
Our WeBlog Workshops are the perfect way to get hands-on with your content creation. We have 2 types of workshop: a 1/2 day (like the Photography Skills workshops) or a full-day (like the 1-day Content Creators workshops). The 1/2 day workshops are centred around a particular skill and take a more practical/hands-on approach (eg. mastering the manual mode of your DSLR camera). The 1-day workshops are split into 3 sessions: a technical, a creative and a commercial (or something along those lines. For example: 'Mastering your SEO', 'Styling a flat-lay' and 'What PR agencies really want from bloggers'. All of our workshops are run by professionals or specialists in their fields and are a great way of getting access to really valuable, in-depth knowledge and taking your content to the next level.
Cost: the 1/2 workshops usually range from £50-60. The 1-day workshops are usually £65.
The NBAs aka The Northern Blog Awards
This is the big event of the calendar year - the glamorous, red carpet soiree! We launched the NBAs last year, to great success and saw over 200 bloggers, vloggers, influencers and agencies from all over the North of England, come together to celebrate the amazing talent we have here. 29 content creators were awarded on the night and there were some seriously special goody bags, treats and brand showcases too.
The evening is held in a glamorous hotel, with Prosecco reception, brand collaboration lounge and networking, a 3-course sit-down dinner with wine and then DJ, dancing and entertainment to round-off the night. It really is not to be missed!
Cost: Members are likely to be pay c. £50-55 per ticket. Non members are likely to pay £60-65 per ticket. PR agency or brand prices on request.

To round-off the year, we like to get together, stuff our faces and laugh about the year that's just been. It's a great time for us all to get together and have a laugh and also a fab way for anyone freelance or self-employed to actually get an "office Xmas party".
