I’ve put a lot of work these past four months into seriously upping the content and quality of my blog. For 2018 I’d love to start making a small income - more for my own satisfaction than anything!

 

How long have you been blogging?

I first created a blog back in 2012 as it was a requirement for my journalism degree. I’d never even thought of blogging before! My first blog was more a portfolio of my work, and six months later I launched The Shoestring Shopper: a dedicated fashion blog. Three months spent in New York for an internship made me realise I wanted to expand beyond fashion on a budget, so Twenty-Something City was born!

Why did you decide to start your blog?

I saw lots of other people posting their slant on current trends and I thought, why can’t I do it too?

What do you hope to achieve for your content in 2018?

I’ve put a lot of work these past four months into seriously upping the content and quality of my blog. For 2018 I’d love to start making a small income - more for my own satisfaction than anything!

What is your favourite social media channel & why?

I love (read: love/hate) Instagram. As sharing my outfits and fashion finds is such a large part of Twenty-Something City, it makes sense to use such a visual platform. That being said, I cannot get into Pinterest!

What is your favourite tool or app that helps in your content creation?

My new fave is Canva- it’s so ideal for graphic design needs, even if you’re a troglodyte like me.

Who is your blogging/vlogging/content inspiration?

Most of the time, I think about the content I would want to read or search for… and write it myself! Heck, at least that means one person is enjoying what I write. The past year careers content has come to the fore on my blog, as it has in my own life.

What is the one piece of advice you’d give other bloggers & aspiring bloggers?

Read, watch and engage with as many other content creators as possible. The best way to learn is to observe other people.

Fun/Random fact about you:

It’s very rare you’ll see me in heels on my blog, and you’ll never see me in flats - that’s because I have narrow feet and really struggle to find anything other than boots that fit!
