How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for about 2 and half years now and it's flown by! I only wish I had started earlier, I have learnt loads and gained so much confidence over the past few years.
Why did you decide to start your blog?
I started to share my craft and DIY makes on Tumblr a few years back but wanted to start writing more 'tutorial' based posts as well as more lifestyle stuff. So decided to start Made Up Style whilst I was looking for a job after university. It started out as a creative escape but has now turned into an all round lifestyle blog where I share my creative makes, interior tips and travels highlights. I love the freedom to write about anything that inspires me. Fast forward two and half years, I have now bagged my dream job as a textiles designer and write for my blog in my spare time.
What do you hope to achieve for your blog in 2017?
I want to push my blog further in 2017, continuing to create new content and grow a loyal readership. I would love get my You Tube channel up and running along side my blog, with tutorials and travel vlogs. Blogging has opened so many doors and amazing opportunities I only dreamed about, I hope 2017 brings more exciting plans and adventures!
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
I love Instagram. I love logging on and seeing amazing images of people, places and DIY’s and being inspired to create, make or do. Pinterest is another favourite of mine, especially being a craft blogger, it's great for sharing DIY's and how to's.
Who is your blogging inspiration?
So many bloggers inspire me, my favourites are A Pair and A Spare and Bella Coco. Both amazing ladies who always produce interesting and engaging content.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other bloggers & aspiring bloggers?
Always be nice, comment, share and engage with your readers, kindness costs nothing and goes a long way.
Fun/Random fact about you:
I once climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for meningitis research.
