If I'm feeling a little unmotivated for my blog or other things I make sure I take a walk on my lunch break to get some time out, calm myself down and search for inspiration.
How long have you been blogging/vlogging/creatin
My blog Felicity has been running for just over a year now but I've had a couple of different blogs over the last 8 years or so.
Why did you decide to start your blog?
I like to write and be creative so a blog seemed like a good place to start, my first blog covered general lifestyle and I just wrote about whatever I was interested in that day. Not many people read it but that didn't really matter, I just enjoyed writing it.
Do you see this becoming a career or part of your career?
I work in content already (radio) and I love my job so I'm pretty happy as I am at the moment, however, my situation might change as I get older so it would be great to have something that I can work on my own terms with.
What do you hope to achieve with your content in 2018?
I love to get into a better routine with creating regular content but I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity. I always see a big difference in the engagement of my content when I write from the heart. Being authentic is more important to me than just churning posts out.
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
I love Instagram, who doesn't?! I find this channel easier to manage as I can microblog what I'm thinking at any given moment and attach it to a pretty picture. I wouldn't say I'm the best photographer but I do enjoy it.
What is your favourite tool or app that helps in your content creation?
I use GIMP 2 to create graphics. It's free software similar to photoshop, it's simple to use.
Who is your blogging/vlogging/content
I've followed Carly Rowena, The Anna Edit and Lily Pebbles for years. They're all similar ages to me, their content has evolved with them over time and has always been relatable to me.
More recently I've been loving How Many Holidays, Chelsea is so likeable and the blog/vlog has so many great tips for savvy travellers.
What do you like to do on weekends? Where can we find you hanging out?
Living in the Manchester suburbs I love weekends with friends catching up over coffee and brunch or a glass of wine or two. There's always loads going on in Manchester so I try and soak up as much of the cities' events and culture as I can.
I'm also really outdoorsy and love rock climbing and hiking so I get out doing that when I can. Living in Manchester is perfect for the best of both worlds, 40 minutes and you can be in the middle of beautiful countryside.
If you could go anywhere in the world or experience any one thing, what would it be?
I love to travel, and I'm a real sunshine girl. One of my best friends has just moved to Peru so I would love to head there to visit him, that's top of my list right now.
I used to live in New Zealand and spent months travelling, it was a good life. I often dream of nomad life! I'm pretty sure I won't live in the UK my whole life.
What're your tips for staying motivated and/or organised in your work?
I have the worst memory so I write everything down. I use my outlook calendar to organise my time and block out space for each task. My job is pretty full on so if I'm feeling a little unmotivated for my blog or other things I make sure I take a walk on my lunch break to get some time out, calm myself down and search for inspiration.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other content creators & aspiring bloggers/vloggers?
Do what YOU want, don't think you have to play by any rules.
Fun/Random fact about you...
I used to live in New Zealand, I moved there after university and travelled the length and breadth of the country. Moving to the other side of the world on my own was hugely empowering and really helped build my confidence. Travel is a great way to feed creativity.
