Be yourself and create content that means something to YOU.
How long have you been blogging/vlogging/creatin
2 Years in total, the first year as a hobby and the second as a part-time job as well as a continued hobby.
Why did you decide to start Fitness Forster?
I really got into fitness, health and healthy cooking and baking so I thought why the hell not? I had seen others who had been blogging for a while and loved the content and what they were doing so I took inspiration from them and thought I would give it a go myself!
I originally wanted to blog full-time and for that to be my full-time career, up until recently that is. I recently qualified as a personal trainer and have loved every minute of teaching classes and clients so now I want this to be a big part of my career alongside blogging and creating quality content!
What do you hope to achieve for your content in 2018?
Continuing to provide healthy recipes and health/fitness related posts as well as trying to make more of the travel side of my blog. In 2017 I really found a love for travelling, especially healthy travel, and it has made me really want to expand on this and visit new places all over the world. I also have plans for new sections to appear on my blog. I also want to make my YouTube channel work well alongside my blog and hope to bring lots of new video content for my followers.
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
I love Instagram (even though the algorithm at the moment is horrendous!!). I am a very visual person and love seeing peoples photos! I have only recently taken to twitter but I must admit, that's a close second! I feel there is certainly a lot more honesty and realness to twitter. Having recently taken to YouTube as well I have really enjoyed watching others videos and vlogs!
What is your favourite tool or app that helps in your content creation?
I LOVE Photoshop for photo editing and adding captions/wording to some of my photos. Once you know how to use it it's an awesome tool!
Who is your blogging/vlogging/content
Food wise Pam from spamellab.com is who originally inspired me to start the recipe/food side to my blog- she is absolutely killing it! I take inspiration from all sorts of bloggers and content creators. Aside from Pam I also love Zanna Van Dijk, Hazel Wallace, Rhiannon Lambert, Tally Rye and Carly Rowena. Oh and Em Sheldon for fashion/beauty/lifestyle!
What do you like to do on weekends? Where can we find you hanging-out?
I love travelling and exploring so I love when I can get a weekend off work and travel. It doesn't matter whether it's a weekend away or a long walk somewhere, I love exploring and discovering new places. If I'm not away anywhere I love spending time in York. It's only a short drive away so it's my 'go-to' place for a day of shopping, walking, exploring and eating out. Saying that, I would never turn down a weekend of complete chill and relaxation as those are very rare these days!
If you could go anywhere in the world or experience any one thing, what would it be?
I would absolutely love to explore California and Australia. Those are at the very top of my travel bucket list and I do hope to visit one day!
What're your tips for staying motivated and/or organised in your work?
My top tip is to have some sort of schedule. I like to think I am a pretty well-organised person and I like being prepared! In the middle of a month, I will plan everything for the following month with regards to content for my blog, vlog and socials. I have a really cool diary that allows me to add it all in so I have a full month view, it's my saviour! I also make sure I plan at least two weeks in advance when it comes to the recipe creation side of my work as you never know when something needs tweaking or goes completely wrong!
