FEATURED BLOGGER OF THE WEEK – Sip Scoff Scribe

Twitter followers: 632
Instagram followers: 452

How long have you been blogging?
About 18 months on and off working full time as a Lawyer by day and blogging by night.
Why did you decide to start your blog?
It all started as bit of a hobby. I’ve always loved food and for years I’ve shared photos and recipes on my personal social media. I noticed that those posts were starting to generate a few comments and people seemed to enjoy them. One day I thought that it would be nice to gather all my foodie chat into one place. Somewhere that I could talk food to anyone who was interested without boring and clogging up the news feeds of those who weren’t. So Sip Scoff Scribe as born and I’ve been sipping, scoffing and scribing ever since.
Around that time I was also trying new things with fitness. I'd always been a bit of an exercise-phobe, never sporty and avoided the gym. I knew I had to factor in some form of exercise and had put it off for too long so I embarked on a mission to find something I enjoyed. I tried swimming, spinning, classes at a commercial gym, hot yoga and running and then a weight lifting gym opened opposite where I lived. Being a girly girl it was the last thing that I thought I would get into but I got hooked when the results started coming and I started including fitness updates in my blog which also proved popular.
What do you hope to achieve for your blog in 2017?
To write more posts and branch into video and mini vlogs. Life gets in the way sometimes and I have a head full of ideas for posts and recipes but never enough time. I'd love to grow my Twitter and Instagram followers too and I'm hoping that this will happen organically as I create more useful content. I also have plans to launch an e-book in the future and have had lots of requests for this already.
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
I'm torn between Instagram and Twitter – I tend to get the most interaction and messages from followers through Twitter but I love the visual aspect of Instagram and often find that most of my inspiration comes from there. I could literally spend hours tapping and scrolling and drooling over all of the tasty food inspo on there.
Who is your blogging inspiration?
In terms of blogs that I personally follow, I love The Anna Edit for her blog style and humour. I also enjoy the candid humour and honest product reviews from A Model Recommends. In terms of food and fitness blogs my daily reads are Caithy Walker a fellow Manc and runner, Revie Jane Schulz, a fitness addict who trains and coaches weights and Clean Eating Alice and Laura Baker for tasty food inspiration.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other bloggers & aspiring bloggers?
Fun/Random fact about you:
I'm currently studying to become a Nutritionist and Strength Coach (alongside my full time job) and I'll qualify later this year. I can't wait to be able to put my learning into practice and I hope to be able to cut through some of the confusing information that's out there on nutrition.
