How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging on and off for about 6 years now although I’d say I’ve only recently decided to become a bit more committed to it.
Why did you decide to start your blog?
I was always the geek at school that really enjoyed English lessons and writing in general and, initially, I started a blog just to have somewhere to publish my thoughts and musings. I think I fancied myself as a bit of a Carrie Bradshaw typing away on a laptop! It was only when I started to work with a few brands that I started to take it a little more seriously and now I’m at the stage where I really want to take it to the next level. I write a lot of content for other people and businesses in my job and it’s nice to be able to write about things I love under my own name.
What do you hope to achieve for your blog in 2017?
I’ve spent the last few months not producing any real content but getting my head around what I want to do with my blog and what my niche is. I’ve recently had a bit of refresh on the actual design so I’m really looking forward to getting back into it with regular content and better photography.
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
Hands down, it has to be Insta! I love social media and honestly don’t think I could live without any of them (loser!) but I’m just totally obsessed with Instagram. It’s so visual and I love stalking people’s pretty profiles and I’m ashamed to admit I take real pride in my own feed. I love spending time getting the perfect shot and editing it so it fits with my other photos.
Who is your blogging inspiration?
I think everyone loves Victoria from In The Frow and she definitely kills it with her photography, content and collaborations. I generally like blogs with a lot of written content but I also love following Sarah Ashcroft – her style is incredible and she’s dominating every social media channel.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other bloggers & aspiring bloggers?
Definitely just be happy being you. I think it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there and some may worry what others may think or say but if it’s something you enjoy and want to do then you can’t let anything hold you back. Feel the fear and do it anyway.
Fun/Random fact about you:
I was an ice skating champion when I was younger!
