February has been another whirlwind month for us at WeBlog HQ!
I didn’t want the month to end without saying THANK YOU to our lovely attendees from our Kick Start Your Content Seminars in Manchester and Leeds! You guys showed up, inspired us and got involved. We always leave feeling so motivated to work on our blogs too. 😊
For those who missed out, I wanted to share some key takeaways that seemed to come up with everyone there, whether they're a seasoned blogger with thousands of followers or a complete beginner!
Champion yourself, champion your work and embrace shameless self-promo!
Treat your blog with the same level of commitment you'd treat anything important.
Get that writing hour in the calendar, arrange that photoshoot on your day off.
You wouldn't miss an appointment with your doctor, friend or boss, so treat yourself and your content with the same respect!
Everyone struggles with the algorithm, comparison and the other downsides of social media, at the beginner's level right up to the top.
Let go of that pressure and focus on what's in your control - creating content you love and putting yourself out there in your community (use #WeBlogNorth as I love going through your posts on Insta and Twitter)
You don’t have to be everything to everyone and here, there and everywhere 24/7.
In fact, this is counterproductive to your growth! If you can’t get your head around a social platform, get off there and focus your energy into the platforms you love. If you’re seeing everyone on Instagram sharing travel snaps but you love being at home reading a book, own it.
As a content creator, you shape your niche and your niche is your superpower! Chances are, there are other people out there who are hanging out on the same apps and want content just like yours. Focus on what makes you and your platforms unique.
Be your own number 1 fan.
If you’re not sharing your blog posts, telling people about your new creative project or getting out in the online community and asking for help and support, nobody’s gonna be there to do it for you. Champion yourself, champion your work and embrace shameless self-promo!
You’ve spent precious time creating this content, there’s no shame in sharing it with the world and people who will benefit from seeing it.
Change one thing.
Add one good practice into your routine. Whether it's engaging with your community for 10 minutes a day, pinning your blog posts, using hashtags or asking a question within your content.
One small addition can make a huge difference in your engagement and growth.
Would love to hear if any of these takeaways resonate with you! Comment below, share this on Twitter or DM us on Instagram. 🙌🏼
