How long have you been blogging?
Nearly 2 years, I started in July 2015.
Why did you decide to start your blog?
In all honesty, it was because I rambled too much on my Instagram ha. After debating it for ages with friends I finally just bit the bullet and went for it. I wanted to share my knowledge on fitness and health to as many people as possible as well as share my own story so people could relate to me rather than just be another website spouting knowledge. It has grown as I have making content for a purpose now rather than aimless rambles (though they do happen at times 😉)
I wanted to show women that fitness isn’t just for the super active and confident, it is for everyone and it can be simple. There is so much free content out there that sometimes it can get confusing which made me want to share my opinions on it all. If I can help just one person then that is a job well done for me.
What do you hope to achieve for your blog in 2017?
I want to build upon my brand and have more structure to it. I want my blog to be a place women go to for workout ideas, the occasional recipe and find out information on fitness that isn’t the rubbish we see in the media all the time. I am all about empowering women and self-love, women should love their body no matter what and fitness should enhance life not restrict or take over it, so I want my blog to reflect this.
I would also like to work with more brands in 2017 especially active wear and fitness ones as that is the industry I am in so it would be good to work with people and their products.
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
Definitely Instagram in terms of my own posting, I feel I have a better engagement there as well connecting with so many like-minded people. I also love how much effort goes into people’s feeds and the content is just getting better. I am a visual person so I work better with seeing pictures as well as text so Instagram just works for me.
I love You Tube and watching peoples' content over there, maybe I will start my own one day …
Who is your blogging inspiration?
I would have to say Carly Rowena I just love what she posts, what she stands for and her whole personality. I love how down to earth she seems and what you see is what you get. As she is a PT as well it is nice to know she thinks the same way as me and I find myself agreeing with pretty much everything she says. Even though she is on you tube more than her blog I think as a brand she is great and her content is always on point.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other bloggers & aspiring bloggers?
Fun/Random fact about you:
I have a slight love for the Harry Potter series and have loved it ever since the first book came out. I really wanted to go and was really upset I didn’t get a Hogwarts letter (I’m still waiting 😉)
