You've got to remember WHY you're doing this and WHO you're doing this for.
How long have you been blogging/vlogging/creating content?
I've been blogging since 2013 and I started my YouTube channel just last year and love it!
Why did you decide to start your blog/vlog?
I decided to start my blog because I wanted a creative outlet to document my life. It was only when people started asking me questions about blogging and social media that I realised people could actually use my help and it became the main topic of my content!
Do you see this becoming a career or part of your career?
Absolutely not. My blog is the main thing I credit to have allowed me to take my business full-time and I am so grateful for that.
What do you hope to achieve for your content in 2018 and what’s your big-picture goal?
My main focus in 2018 is creating more valuable content and getting it out there to more and more people who need it. In terms of the big picture, I'm looking at launching my first course and I'd love to do more public speaking.
What is your favourite social media channel & why?
For me, it has and always will be Twitter. There's something so authentic and unique about this platform. It's such a positive place to be and I have so many interesting conversations on there.
What is your favourite tool or app that helps in your content creation?
Evernote is a tool I use daily and that I recommend to so many other bloggers. I keep track of my ideas in this app, plan my content and even write it. But I love Asana for keeping me organised!
Who is your blogging/vlogging/content inspiration and why?
At the moment it's Amy Landino. Every time I watch her on YouTube I feel like I'm sitting there in the room with her. That's what I want to achieve with my content.
What do you like to do on weekends? Where can we find you hanging out?
I love going out for walks (especially when they involve brunch!)
If you could go anywhere in the world or experience any one thing, what would it be?
I've always wanted to go to California...it's actually something we're thinking about for our honeymoon next year!
What're your tips for staying motivated and/or organised in your work?
You've got to keep showing up. Once you build an audience, they expect content from you. You can't let them down. They're waiting for that next amazing blog post or YouTube video from you and you're the only one that can give it to them. Create a schedule that works for you.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give other content creators & aspiring bloggers/vloggers?
You've got to remember WHY you're doing this and WHO you're doing this for. No other strategy will work and nothing else matters unless you know this. Keep this in your mind at all times and let it be the core focus of everything you do.
Fun/Random fact about you (go on, surprise us!):
I've been playing the piano for over 10 years!
