These awesome 1-day learning workshops proved hugely popular last year so they're back! Focusing on a number of different areas of content creation, giving you inspo and learning from those who live and work it, is the best way to get better! Full of like-minded people, looking to make their already amazing content, even more fabulous, gain inspiration and put the North firmly on the digital content map!

What is it exactly?
It's a full-on day of learning, fun and making friends (so not one to do on a hangover!) and this workshop's focus will be on the following 3 areas:
1. Getting your sh*t seen (from Inbound Agency owner, Richard Wood)
How to increase visibility and traffic to your blog and online content. (digital marketing for bloggers and content creators - tricks of the trade to get your blog noticed)
2. Working with brands - insight from a PR agency's point of view (from PR Agency owner & Blogger, Kate Baxter)
How to market yourself effectively to brands and get on their radar. (How to creatively interpret campaign briefs to create engaging, worthwhile content that will delight your readers - as a lead in to Georgie’s session and our interactive workshop)
3. Creating a brand with your visuals (with Pro Photographer, Stylist & Blogger, Georgie Glass)
The importance of retaining who you are visually, through imagery. (How to retain your true brand whilst creating content for PR companies, brands, your blog and even your Instagram grid. The aim is to teach you some great go-to tips to reach to when you're feeling stagnant or flat with your visuals. Also how having a designed plan and format for your content can really help you keep continuity and fluidity to your own personal brand and visuals, without loosing your creativity)
Sessions 2 and 3 will be inter-linked, with some fun practical tasks to get you applying what you've learnt 🙂
There'll be time for lunch, games and chat too of course, but come ready to learn.
Approx running order of the day will be as follows:

3.15pm: Session 3
The workshop will be held in at The Six & Flow Offices, Barton Arcade, Deansgate, Manchester.

Who Are The Speakers?
Kate is an award-winning design blogger with over 8 years experience working in PR, developing and implementing effective marketing and communication strategies for independent design brands. Having launched her blog Fabric of my Life back in 2009, she has long straddled both sides of the PR/blogging fence and has a unique perspective on how best influencers and brands can create genuine and engaging content that resonates with readers and helps drive sales and awareness.
Georgie is an established food & lifestyle photographer born, bred and residing in Manchester. Having been surgically attached to her camera since the age of 13, she then went on to study Photography with Editorial and Advertising at the University of Gloucestershire. Having been inspired by her involvement with WeBlogNorth, Georgie's now branched off and started her own blog. Georgie is a trained photography stylist and expert in bring your personal brand to life through your visuals.

How many people will be there?
We keep these workshops to under 25 attendees, to keep a nice intimate feel and so that everyone can get the most out of the interactive sessions and networking/friend-making opportunity. We also encourage questions and interaction in each of the sessions - it's your chance to get direct access to industry professionals.
Is this workshop suitable for beginners/entry level?
I'd say content creators of most levels would get something out of this workshop, but it's not for total beginners, no. It's most suitable for bloggers, vloggers, influencers or entrepreneurs using content already in their personal or professional life. It assumes that you'll have some prior knowledge already and will aim to enhance, inspire and develop that knowledge. We encourage debate, questions and discussion - as this is the best way to learn!
I'm really interested in 2 of the sessions, but not sure about the 3rd...
A 7-8 hour day of learning is pretty intense and we find that the best way to keep your energy levels up is to challenge the different areas of your brain. So we like to balance more technical learning, with creative and theory based and with practical. This is why we design the content of the workshop in the way we do and we find that each session is relevant to the majority of people, even if they don't expect it to be...you'll be more than likely to pick up at least one valuable bit of info in each session that'll help you on your content creating journey (even further down the line!).
Do I have to be a WeBlogNorth member?
No, of course not - we welcome all and there's always a nice mix of members and non-members, oldies and newbies 🙂
But, membership does only cost £5.99 p/month and you get a £5 discount for this event alone, so essentially you pretty much pay for your month's subscription right there! You'll also get more online support and access to a lovely community of content creators right here in the North. So we'd love to have you on board.
Due to the planning, booking and nature of these events, we don't offer refunds once a ticket has been purchased, but are happy to exchange or transfer the ticket to one of our other events coming-up.
